Ingredients

  • 1/2 tbsp Olive oil
  • 1/2 Cabbage cut into thin strips
  • 1 lb Ground Beef
  • 1/2 Onion diced
  • 8 Homestyle Original Biscuits or Pizza Dough
  • 1/2 tsp Paprika
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Crushed Black Pepper
  • 8 Slices of American Cheese (Optional)

Equipment

  • Baking sheet
  • Parchment Paper
  • Skillet

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  3. Add the ground beef and begin browning.
  4. When the beef is about halfway browned, add the cabbage and onion.
  5. Season the mixture and reduce the heat to medium-low. Cook until the beef is fully cooked and the vegetables have softened.
  6. Meanwhile, on a lightly floured surface, roll each piece of dough into an 8-inch circle.
  7. Divide the cooked filling evenly among the dough circles.
  8. (Optional) top the filling with a slice of American cheese.
  9. Fold the dough over the filling and pinch the edges tightly to seal.
  10. Place the bierocks seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
  11. Bake for 6 minutes, then rotate the baking sheet 180°.
  12. Bake for an additional 6 minutes, or until golden brown.
